Deprescribing for Older Adults

Purpose: Increasing the capacity of primary care clinicians and community care teams to optimize medication use, appropriately prescribe, and apply strategies for deprescribing medications for older adults

Audience: Primary care teams, including prescribing clinicians, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, nurse care managers, behavioral health specialists, administrators, and quality improvement specialists

Sample topics: Evidence-based guidelines and resources for deprescribing; communication strategies; tapers and microtapers; safer alternatives to risky meds; collaborating with team members and specialsts on deprescribing

Schedule: 12 sessions. Thursdays, 7:30 - 8:30 a.m., Pacific time, January 9 - March 27, 2025
